Life on the Learning Curve
Happy Holidays to you and yours!! This time of year means different things to different people. Sometimes different things to the same people. This year I am delighted at the thought of the lengthening daylight and the metaphoric blossoming that I believe that will bring. I am more hopeful for bigger, better and more. And I'm not talking "stuff". I'm talking bigger, better and more of ME, of YOU, and for the world.
Instead of a lengthy newsletter to further tax over-burdened brain cells I offer the poem below.
Please note: The January, Design your Life newsletter will come out a little earlier next month to give you time to explore possibilities and set intentions for 2009.
Last Night as I was Sleeping
by Poet Antonio Machado
Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt-marvelous error!-
that a spring was breaking
out in my heart.
I said: Along which secret aqueduct,
Oh water, are you coming to me?
Water of a new life
that I have never drunk?
Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt-marvelous error!-
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bees
were making white combs
and sweet honey
from my old failures.
Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt-marvelous error!-
that a fiery sun was giving
light inside my heart.
It was fiery because I felt
warmth as from a hearth,
and sun because it gave light
and brought tears to my eyes.
Last night as I slept
I dreamt-marvelous error!-
that it was god I had
here inside my heart.
Happy Holidays and New Years! I wish you the very best start to the coming year! We'll be back in 2009!
